1. Who we are

ShareGuard (“the app”) and this website are published by Fiscal Task Force SRL, Romania. For the information described here, Fiscal Task Force SRL is the data controller and can be reached at levi@fiscaltaskforce.ro. This policy covers the ShareGuard Android app and the website shareguard.dllsoft.ro.

2. The app: what it does with your images

You give the app an image in one of two ways: you pick one with the Android photo picker, or you send one to ShareGuard from another app’s Share menu. The app then looks for sensitive details in it, meaning text such as email addresses, phone numbers, card and account numbers and addresses, as well as faces, QR codes and barcodes, and covers the areas you select.

All of this happens on your device, using recognition models that are part of the installed app. Your image is never uploaded. It is not sent to us, it is not sent to Google, and it is never used for advertising.

While you work on an image, the app keeps a working copy in its own private storage, where no other app can read it. That copy is replaced when you start on another image and is removed when the app’s storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled. The original photo is left exactly as it was.

3. The app: what we collect

Nothing reaches us. We run no server and have no account system, so we do not receive your images, what you covered in them, the text the app recognised, your settings or any usage statistics. What the advertising in the app collects is described below, and it goes to Google, not to us.

4. The app: what it keeps on your device

Your settings, and nothing else: the covering style you prefer, whether metadata is removed, whether faces and codes are selected for you, the theme, the language, whether you have seen the introduction and your advertising choice. They are kept in the app’s private storage. The app keeps no history of the images you have checked, of the text it recognised or of what it found.

5. The app: advertising

ShareGuard is free and is paid for by advertising. The ads are supplied by Google AdMob, and Google, not we, decides which ad you see. To do that, Google receives from your device:

• your device’s advertising identifier, which you can reset or delete in Android settings;
• your IP address, from which an approximate location such as the country is derived;
• details about the device and the app, such as the model, the operating system version and the app version;
• what happened with the ad: that it was shown, and whether you tapped it.

Google uses this to select and measure ads, to limit how often the same ad is shown, and to detect invalid activity and fraud. Google acts as an independent controller for that data and handles it under its own terms: see Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Your images, the areas you cover and anything the app recognised in them are never part of this. They stay on your device.

6. Your choice about personalised ads

In the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, the app asks you before any personalised ads are shown, through Google’s consent form. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are chosen without a profile built from your activity. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time from the app’s Settings.

Wherever you are, you can also reset or delete your advertising identifier, and turn off ad personalisation for every app, in Android settings under Privacy, Ads.

7. The app: the optional “No ads” purchase

You can remove the ads with a one-time in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play, under Google’s terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details, name or email address. The app receives from Google Play only the confirmation that the purchase exists for the Google account on the device, so that it stops showing ads, including after a reinstall.

8. The app: when it uses the network

Only for the ads. Choosing an image, recognising what is in it, covering areas and exporting the result all work with no connection at all, because the recognition models are inside the installed app.

9. The app: permissions

• Internet access, used to fetch and display ads.
• Advertising ID. Android 13 and later list this separately; it is what the ads use to recognise the device without knowing who you are.
• No permission for your photos. The Android photo picker and the Share menu hand the app one image at a time, so it never gets access to your photo library.
• Storage, on Android 9 and older only, and only when you choose “Save copy”. Android 10 and later need no permission for this.
• No camera, location, contacts or microphone access is requested.

10. Copies you save or share

When you choose “Save copy”, the protected image is written to your device’s picture gallery, in a ShareGuard folder. When you choose “Share”, Android passes the protected copy to the app you pick. From that point the copy is in your hands, or in the hands of the app you sent it to, and this policy no longer governs it; the receiving app’s own terms and privacy policy do. Protected copies are exported without their metadata: location, camera details, date and the rest of the EXIF information are removed.

11. Detection is assistive

Automatic detection can miss sensitive details or mark the wrong ones. The app shows you everything it found and lets you add, move, resize and remove the covered areas. Check every image yourself before you share it. Covering is applied to the pixels of the exported copy, so a covered area cannot be recovered from that copy.

12. The website: what happens when you visit

The website is static and has no accounts, forms or comments. We load no fonts, scripts, maps, videos or other resources from third parties, and the site uses no analytics or advertising tools.

• Server logs. Like any web server, the one hosting this site records technical data about each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the response code, the size of the response and the browser type. We use it for security and to fix faults, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and keep it only as long as those purposes need.
• Cookies. A single technical cookie that remembers your cookie choice. See the Cookie policy.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we use your address and message to answer you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to your request or, where it concerns a contract, to perform it. We keep it as long as that correspondence and any legal obligation require.

13. Children

ShareGuard is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We collect no personal data from anyone through the app, and the app is not part of Google Play’s programmes for families.

14. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to your personal data, or for its correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing. Through the app we hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to give you or to delete: everything the app stores is on your own device, and uninstalling it removes the settings and the working copies. Images you saved to your gallery stay there until you delete them yourself.

For the advertising data described above the controller is Google, and requests about it go to Google through the links in that section. 15. Changes to this policy

If the app or the website changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy is updated before the change is released, and the date at the top changes with it.
